Your Mind is Like a River, not a Rock

We had a great time at the David Lynch Weekend at the Maharishi University of Management, in Fairfield Iowa. Some of the topics explored were:

• Consciousness

* What is transcending — and what is its value?
* How does meditation boost learning ability?
* What happens to the brain during meditation?

• Creativity

* Where do creative ideas come from?
* How can creativity be developed?

• Sustainability

* What is inner sustainability?
* Why is inner sustainability needed to create a sustainable world?

• Peace

* What is the underlying cause of war and terrorism?
* How can peace be created from the quantum level?

A student asked David Lynch to come up with five creative obstructions that could be used in a homework assignment work of fiction. Mr. Lynch came up with:

• blue electric clouds
• a bowling ball in space filled with red ants
• a possum with a clown nose
• a buick with fifteen sixteen-year old girls
• Roy Orbison on the stage with Moby, Donovan and Chrysta Bell
